An Explanation of why TIME TRAVEL does not work
by Terry inenergy and matter are neither created nor destroyed.. consequently, the building blocks of existence are actually finite parts.. to create things in "tomorrow" which are new, something has to be dismantled to leave spare parts for tomorrow's new thing.. the old thing deteriorates, (dies/disintegrates) and the parts become available to make the new thing.. time travel requires going to a place where today's parts are available to be rearranged.. some of today's things persist as they are, of course.
they only travel through time by persisting as they are.
(mountains, for example.).

(Remember, energy and matter can neither be created nor destroyed....only changed).
I will have to disagree with this statement.

Ok? I didn't laugh at all watching those clips, especially the second one where there wasn't any punch lines or jokes. What exactly was I suppose to find funny about the dinosaur clip anyway?

The most despised group
by poopsiecakes ini stumbled across this blog today...very interesting!
i'm not sure if anyone else has posted this or not - i couldn't find a thread...sorry if it's a duplicate.. .
atheists are the most despised minority in americamar 25th, 2009 by cindy.a 2006 university of minnesota study revealed that atheists are the most despised minority in america.

This group does not at all agree with my vision of American society…
Atheist: 39.6%
Muslims: 26.3%
Homosexuals: 22.6%
Hispanics: 20%
Conservative Christians: 13.5%
Recent Immigrants: 12.5%
Jews: 7.6%I get the feeling "Blacks" were intentionally left out to support the author's hypothesis that atheist are the most hated group in America when historically "blacks/African Americans" were the most hated group in American history. This fact makes me question the integrity of this report.
Atheists consist of about 10-15% of the US population but are only 0.21% of the prison populations. So, the vast majority of atheists are morally sound without the need of a supernatural watchdog. It is important for atheists to stand up and be recognized in order to break the negative and wrong stereotypes of atheism.
This statement doesn't take into account parole and prison gangs. A person who is up for parole will try everything possible to get out of prison early, one of which we see so very often is people claiming to find God in prison and promising the judge they are now a good person and won't commit any more crimes. 99.99% of the time it's total BS. Also prison gangs run prisons and in order to stay protected a person would have to join a gang and accept whatever traditional religious views those gangs have, i.e Mexican Mafia(catholic)aryan brotherhood(protestant),multiple black gangs(nation of Islam)etc. With these two factors individuals who never read the Bible or koran a day in their lives claims to be religious which manipulates the stats.
Of course all of this is irrelevant because people who live by the teachings of Christ wouldn't break the law or commit adultery. This article is comparing atheist to people who claim to be Christians, not actual Christians.

Please explain the point of being Good?
by Brocephus ini never understood the point of being good and righteous if the only punishment for not doing so was "nothing" i would die and nothing would happen.
just nothing, no hell, no pain, no regret... just nothing.. on the other hand if i am good.... i have to deal with the jw's and their rules and boring meetings forever!!!
no worldly girls to sneak around with on saturday night.. no keg parties to sneak off too on friday?....

The starting point of "Good" for the purposes of this conversation shall be following the Watchtowers rules so as not to incur God's angry wrath at armageddon and be humilitated and put down like a rabid dog. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Remember this is about a teenager asking his JW parents to please explain the point of all these stupid rules again...
no military
no football
no dances
no dating
no holidays
no birthdays
get the idea?
I don't think 'good' is the appropriate word to use. It's very misleading.

Leolaia perhaps you can clear this up for me. I reading from some sources that Enoch 1:9 isn't in any of the Aramaic or Greek fragments and I'm reading from some that it is. Do you have any information that would clear this up?

Difference between "raised in the truth" and "converts" that are now X-JWs.
by Brocephus ini am noticing a difference..... "raised in's" seem to be a little more relaxed and better suited for their world after the kh.
"converts" seem to be a little disoriented.
maybe b/c they saw the truth as away out of this crazy world only to be massive dissapointed.

"Converts" seem to be a little disoriented.
I totally disagree with this statement. I don't see how someone who was raised in the organization their whole lives can be more suited for the world than a convert who spent more time in the world than in the organization.
Just wondering as a convert, what was the most appealing aspect of "the truth" when you decided to join?
The most appealing aspect for me was being around people who lived a clean life. Before I became a witness I didn't drink, smoke, have sex, watch movies, etc. Also the fact that they followed the Bible only(or so I though) was also very appealing. I started studying when I was 20, I was baptized at 21 and faded out 5 months later so it was pretty easy for me to adjust to no longer being a witness after only being in the organization for a year and a half.
